1.When does eufy record or store my videos?
eufy records and stores videos locally when motion is detected by your device. If you subscribe to our cloud storage service, your videos are securely stored in the cloud and can be deleted at any time. Your videos will be permanently deleted from our servers according to the storage period on your plan.
2.How do I share videos?
All of your videos can be downloaded locally into a separate file to your device. There is no online link available to any video. Please make sure that you only share videos with those that you trust.
3.How can I access and view my recordings?
You can access and view your stored recordings, download them, or delete them via the eufy app.
4.How secure are my recordings?
We are committed to keep your personal data safe. Your video clips will be securely stored locally by default. Each clip will be encrypted with AES by your eufy device. You need to use Eufy software and your account to decrypt the clips for viewing. No one else can access or read this data. If you choose to store the clips in the cloud, we encrypt data between eufy devices and AWS using TLS and SRTP (Secure Real Time Protocol). The clips stored in AWS will also be encrypted by AWS for further data protection.
5.Who can view my recordings?
You’re in control of who you grant video access to. You can add Shared Users to your account, who will then be able to view and download video recordings. You can also download the clip file to your phone locally and then share the file to your family or friends via your choice of messenger app.
6.Why should I add Shared Users?
Shared Users allow you to share device access with family, roommates, and others without sharing your login credentials. Shared Users can answer and receive alerts, view video recordings, and modify their personal alert settings. For the higher level Admin sharing permission, they can delete videos and change device settings.
7.If I request eufy’s assistance with troubleshooting my device or video recordings, will eufy view my video recordings?
If you are having issues with your device or video recordings, you can request assistance from the eufy Security app’s Help menu or the eufy community. Depending on the issue, eufy may ask you for permission to view your video recordings in connection with troubleshooting the issue. You can choose whether or not to provide eufy with limited, short-term access to view your video recordings solely for the purpose of troubleshooting issues. Your video recordings will not be viewed, shared, or used by eufy for any other purpose.
8.Does eufy view recordings for research and development?
A small number of video recordings are viewed by our research and development team to improve eufy’s products, services, and technology. These video recordings are either from customers who have made them publicly available (by donating via the eufy Security app), or from customers, team members, and their friends and family who have given us explicit permission to use them for this purpose (which they may revoke at any time).
9.Does eufy share video recordings with law enforcement agencies?
In response to legal requests from law enforcement agencies, we will not, without the customer’s consent, disclose video recordings unless it is necessary to comply with the law or if there is an emergency involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to a person. We object to overbroad or otherwise inappropriate demands as a matter of course. Unless prohibited from doing so or eufy has clear indication of illegal conduct in connection with the use of eufy products or services, eufy notifies customers before disclosing content information.
10.Can eufy team members activate and view my live stream?
No. eufy team members cannot activate and view live streams from your eufy devices.
11.Does eufy sell customer information to third parties?
No. We do not sell your information to third parties.
